This is great for ultralight backpacking. I can also fit the Klymit Cush pillow in the stuff sac and together they weigh about the same as a can of soda and are about the same size. A great combo for hiking. Now I only give this item 5 stars as an ultrlight mattress. If you don't care about weight or size this one is not for you. It works best if you sleep on your back and is narrow. You can sleep on your side and it still feels ok. I have not used it in cold temps but it is not rated for winter. If you need a bigger mattress or plan to sleep on big rocks, get something else. This is great for ultralight use but for car camping it is a waste of money. I'm not going to say it is every bit as comfortable as a full size pad because I've not used a good full size pad but this does do the the trick. I couldn't see giving up the pack space for a larger pad and hated the idea of a half pad. This packs down to Cola can size with no effort. I don't use the pump, leave it at home. Blows up in five breaths. I've even had to let a little air out after blowing it up by mouth. Been told that causes mildew and shortens the life of the pad but I'm pretty sure it would take some work to blow this up with just the hand pump though I haven't tried. So if you're of that school you'll need to have another option for inflation. It's tiny. Really tiny. It's tiny even compared other very light pads. As a comparison, you could fit maybe 4 or 5 of these in the space taken by a Thermarest Trail Scout. Ridiculously small.So, until I tried it, I thought "there's absolutely no way this will give me a good night's sleep...". I was really surprised. The body mapping does work, and I get a full night's sleep without any soreness. I find that I adjust a couple times a night to stay positioned on it, but the same thing happens with a regular pad too, as I slide around (I'm a very active sleeper). It fits nicely _inside_ all my bags, which helps to keep it in place. It's also cheaper than any other comparable ultralight pad. Be aware that this model is designed for ultralight enthusiasts.
