Yes its tall enough but not wide enough (to fit my big&tall cold weather sleeping bag).The vertical zipper pocket on the outside is practically useless, can't put any thing in it. HOWEVER! It is VERY comfortable when i wear it (sleeping bag stuff in it and everything). I would recommend this pack for LIGHT backpackers for short trips, not for someone like me who thought it would be big enough to stuff bulky items in it. Received it in the mail about 2 weeks ago. Here is what I have noticed so far:Pros: *Two large pockets. There is a removable flap between the two - just in case you prefer one large pocket. *Both pockets have large openings! I don't know what the other reviewer is trying to fit in to this backpack, but the openings are as large as the actual pockets themselves *Extreme customization with the shoulder straps and waist straps. Comphy and squishy straps too *Comes with a rain cover that unzips from a small pouch on the bottom of the pack! Perfect for a surprise rainfall while backpacking! *Dimensions are exactly the maximum for a carry-on via American Airlines. *Cool pocket on waist strap that will be perfect for cash and my ID. Cons: *A few straps have some cosmetic 'errors' (sewing looks messy) *Small front zipper pocket that I'm not sure what I will use for. The pack itself has most of the features like the $200 packs have. The stitching is professional. Lots of adjustments, however there is no height adjustment for where the top of the shoulder straps sit. If you have a shorter back, then this is not the pack for you. I am 5'2" and there the pack is too 'big' as where the straps meet the bag do not form around my shoulders, they hover above on the top.The bag is designed for someone at least 5'9". If you have a shorter back, then it rides high. There are lots of professional adjustments that you would find on the $200 bags, and they work well; but you cant adjust the upper strap height. The best feature is a pocket on the bottom that contains a black waterproof skirt with elastic around it. It encases the bag like a turtle shell making it waterproof. Kind of like putting a huge garbage bag around it. Awesome feature! |
