So I have used and abused this knife now for about 3 solid weeks! I've processed wood, gutted some small game, carved wooden birthday gifts with it, cut open over 50 bags of quickrete cement mix, cut down several cardboard boxes, and it still holds a pretty sharp edge. After each days worth of hard work, I simply greased it down with a little gun oil, wiped it off, and put it back in its sheath. I have used this knife in just about every environment - from the blazing heat of the Mojave desert, to the beautiful redwoods of northern California, to the frigid parts of Canada, and then some! As long as you take proper care of this knife after each use, it'll last you a good long while!I don't prefer the sheath too much, but it has served me well thus far and is still in pretty decent condition. What can I say? I think Morakniv's are the best value for your money. They are durable, easy to sharpen and inexpensive. Yes you have to take care of the blade, that is the deal when using high carbon steel. The plus side is you get a strong blade with excellent edge retention. The sheath is usually what everybody comments on as a negative aspect with Morakniv's. This knife is a different story in my opinion. It attaches securely to a belt or even just the side of your pants. Yes its plastic but that's good for keeping it dry. I made a leather sheath for my Mora Classic 1, I see no reason to with this. The grip is rubber and so far I have had no problems. There are situations I will use my Classic 1 instead .
