They fit a TON of gear and love the room on the outside to hold things as well. We've used them to go on day hikes only but are in the process of using one as a Grab and Go Emergency Bag. Reading a few books, one I especially reccomend is Preparedness Now by Aton Edwards. PREPAREDNESS NOW!: An Emergency Survival Guide for Civilians and Their Families After reading that book and several others we realized we needed a pretty decent sized pack for the 72 hrs of supplies needed(food pouches, clothing, water, first aid etc)I weigh 125 lbs and find it comfortable to wear. We have two small kids so we needed the space and the free hands. The pack is well made, zippers are easy, good quality material and not overly expensive. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful  Strap support ripped on first day, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Stansport "Willow" Internal Frame Pack (Sports) I bought this bag for a recent trip to Europe. On my first day there I grabbed the bag by the right shoulder strap to put it on. As I did this the strap that supports the main shoulder strap ripped right off the bag. I did somewhat swing the bag onto my shoulder and the bag was full, but I feel it shouldn't have broken from what I consider normal use. For the rest of the trip the bag was weighted unevenly on my back.Also, there is no buckle strap on the front that pulls the shoulder straps together like on other bags I've had. This helps the bag to rest less on your shoulders and fit more comfortably. I gave the bag two stars instead of one because it did get me through my trip, it didn't fall apart so bad that I couldn't use it at all. Also I did only pay $50 for this bag, so in some sense I guess I got what I paid for, I bought a cheap bag so I shouldn't be too surprised that it broke. |
