It is very light weight and easy to use when hiking. I quit using a tent during summer/fall hikes and started using this full time in stead. I recommend not getting it too dirty as it will cause it to wear out over time. I also recommend getting a bug net to cover you and some heavy duty rope to make it a bit more usable in wilderness areas where trees are not always so neatly arranged.Best hiking kit add-on I have ever purchased. They had recalled the original hooks; I called and in a few days they had sent replacements at no additional charge.
