First, the light turns off in about an hour. This undocumented feature excludes its use as an emergency flasher or warning night in extended usage. There is also no info about how to replace the battery in the field by the end-user. As I discover, an user can easily use a small needle nose plier in a Swiss Army knife to pull out the LED/battery module to replace the battery. Those original batteries are cheap ones, not brand name items. The user can also flip the LED/battery module to switch color between the glow stick end and the flashlight end. Overall, this is a good-value toy for kids on Halloween night. However, I would not carry it with me on my hiking or kayaking trip because of the auto time-out feature. I check its circuit board and I found no switch to turn off the time-out feature. 6 of 7 people found the following review helpful  Awesome idea. I love it! I'm told it's visible from quite a long distance. The color is very consistent and glowy (is that a word?).I've only had to make one modification: I attached a carabiner clip to it so that I could clip it to the top of my reflective vest, at the base of my neck. For about five bucks, this little gem could save your life! |
